February 17, 2015 Dear Members of the Cristo Rey Jesuit Community, I am honored and delighted to announce that yesterday evening, the Cristo Rey Jesuit Board of Trustees, with the approval of the Provincial of the U.S. Central and Southern Province of the Society of Jesus, voted to elect Paul Posoli to be the second President of Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston, effective immediately. Mr. Posoli, who has served as Interim President since July 1, 2014, accepts this position after a broad national search and extensive engagement with our community. He has a rich history with the school that predated his appointment as Interim President. A long‐time volunteer, teacher and supporter, Paul’s dedication to the school and its mission have been extraordinary. As interim president, his leadership has energized students, parents, faculty/staff and the school’s leadership team. He has been an inspiration to all of these groups; tirelessly encouraging them in the pursuit of academic excellence and the Ignatian ideals of faith and justice. All have been moved by Paul’s strong commitment to the Jesuit vision of forming men and women for others. Before taking the leadership role at Cristo Rey Jesuit, Paul spent 20 years in the energy field, most recently responsible for JP Morgan’s Global Natural Gas, Power and Coal Trading division as a Managing Director. Prior to JP Morgan, Mr. Posoli served as President of Bear Stearns’ energy business and President of Calpine Energy Services. He began his career as a CPA at Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Posoli is a graduate of Jesuit High School in Tampa Florida. He earned his MBA from Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University, and his Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Miami. Paul is married to Joy and they have 3 children, Matthew, Isabella and Michael. I would like to express my gratitude to the entire Cristo Rey Jesuit Community: the members of the Presidential Search and Executive Committees who devoted so much time and effort to this important work; the students and parents who met with each of our finalists; the Trustees who offered their perspectives on Cristo Rey Jesuit's greatest needs and challenges; the faculty/staff and administration who graciously hosted our finalists and participated so energetically and thoughtfully in the search process; and of course, our donors and corporate work-study partners whose support never faltered during this time of transition. This is an exciting time for our school and the Cristo Rey Jesuit Community. Let us together, emboldened by our faith in Christ and in one another, take our next steps forward, eager to embrace the many opportunities that surely lie ahead. Sincerely, Brian Branda Chairman, Cristo Rey Jesuit Board of Trustees |
