Our Council 14700 is selling 2022 Football Sweepstakes tickets to help defray our Council's Texas State per Capita cost. Each ticket costs $10. Each ticket lists 4 NFL teams for each of the 10 weeks of the sweepstakes contest. Each week, the tickets with the 4 teams scoring the most total points and the least total points will win monetary prizes. Our Council has had a number of winners over the years, including one of our priests who won $400 a few years ago. If you are a winner, the State Council will mail you a check. You don't have to claim your prize, it's all automatic. Our Council's goal is to sell 100 tickets. Right now, we are at 20% of our goal. If each member Knight buys one $10 ticket, we will easily meet our goal. We also need help in selling tickets. If any member Knights can each take 5 tickets and sell them it would be very helpful. Our former Council Chaplain and dedicated Lenten Fish Fry volunteer will visit the parish on the week end of August 27 and 28 to speak at each of the Masses on mission throughout the Spiritan world. This is a designated activity of the archdiocese. Stop by after the Mass and say hello!

The Ukraine Solidarity Fund, established by Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly, was launched Feb. 25. Intended to help with shelter, food, clothing and medical supplies, it has received more than $4.5 million to date in donations, with the first truckload of aid arriving March 1 in Lviv, a city of more than 700,000 near the Polish border. “It’s really providential,” said Szymon Czyszek, a lawyer in Krakow, Poland, who heads the Knights’ relief efforts there. “We want to overcome evil with good,” he said in a March 8 Zoom call with news media.
