Earl was a former high school mathematics teacher. He devoted the last decades of his life to St. Michael.

He was the sacristan and the weekly morning Mass, a Eucharistic Minister, Usher and all-round go to person when one of the parish priest's required help with something.

Earl was a constant presence at council meetings and events---always with a smile, and the latest college football / basketball scores.
